Basketball

The Shaw JCC offers basketball camps to build individual and team skills including ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense. Players participate in 3 on 3, 5 on 5, foul shooting and hot shot contests. Skills are taught in a progressive, age-appropriate manner.

The Shaw JCC Youth Basketball league, for boys and girls grades K-8, offers six weeks of skill sessions followed by team practices and league play consisting of nine games.

All players receive a ticket to a Cleveland Cavaliers game, Jr. NBA/WNBA participation certificate, poster, school folder with an opportunity for one player to be recognized as All-Stars by the NBA/WNBA at a pro game. Each family will receive a calendar for keeping track of games and practices. A recognition banquet is held at the end of the season for all participants and their families.

Baseball

The Shaw JCC Youth Baseball program, for boys and girls ages 4-7, teaches the fundamentals necessary for playing the game of baseball. The after-school program includes time dedicated to learning skills followed by 1-hour games.

Baseball hitting clinics are available through the Shaw JCC for children to learn the intricacies of the game. During the 5-week clinic, coaches provide in depth coverage in all areas of hitting, bunting, base running, and situational play. Each participant receives an analysis of his or her skills and drills to work on upon completion of the clinic.

Flag Football

The Shaw JCC Youth Flag Football league, for boys and girls ages 4-14, offers non-contact continuous action for participants. NFL Flag is the league's first national football program. All players receive a reversible NFL Team-Identified Jersey.

Gymnastics

The Shaw JCC offers Gymnastics classes for children age 3 and up. Kindergymnastics teaches basic skills and familiarity with gymnastics apparatus. In Beginner Gymnastics, children continue to work on basic skills on the vault, uneven bars, beam and floor. Advanced Beginner Gymnastics are offered for children 6 and up.

Karate & Jujutsu Self-Defense

Karate is a way of punching, kicking, striking with the body's natural weapons and neutralizing all manner of attacks. Jujutsu is a method of joint locking, throwing and other self defense techniques that do not involve striking. The Shaw JCC offers classes for children 6 and up. Black belt instructors teach children how to use karate and jujutsu techniques for self protection.

Street Hockey

The Shaw JCC Street Hockey league, for girls and boys grades K-6, offers continuous action for participants. NHL Street is the league's first national hockey program. All players receive NHL playbooks and wear NHL gear, including goalie pads and masks.

Ski Conditioning

Ski conditioning classes are offered to all ages at the Shaw JCC. Participants work in pairs to prepare their bodies for the rigors of the slopes.

Swimming

Swimming lessons are available for all ages at the Shaw JCC. Four levels of group instruction are offered as well as private swim lessons. Lifeguard training and water aerobics are also offered. The Stingray Swim Team meets from November through March.

The Shaw JCC indoor pool closes at 8:30pm Monday through Thursday; 4:45pm on Friday; 5:45pm on Saturday and Sunday. The Shaw JCC outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day; opens Sunday through Friday 11am to 7:45pm; Saturday 1pm to 7:45pm.

Soccer

Middle School students have the opportunity to join Lippman's soccer team.

The Shaw JCC offers soccer camps to build individual and team skills. Skills are taught in a progressive, age-appropriate manner.

Tennis

The Shaw JCC offers tennis camps to build individual and team skills. Skills are taught in a progressive, age-appropriate manner.

Volleyball

The Shaw JCC offers volleyball camps to build individual and team skills. Skills are taught in a progressive, age-appropriate manner.
